In 1969, Andrew was appointed Secretary of the Army in the Second Department of Gorton. In 1972, the Liberal Party joined the opposition and Andrew was a senior liberal member. Andrew also served as Secretary of State until 1980. Andrew made significant progress in his political career and resigned from Parliament in 1994.
Mr. Andrew also served as ambassador to the United States for two years, from 1997 to 1999.
