According to sources, an Indian student died in the war between Russia and Ukraine on Tuesday in the city of Kharkov. The Indian student was identified as Naveen Gyanagoudar Shekharappa. He is a resident of Chalageri at Ranebennur Taluk in Haveri district of Karnataka. He is a 21-year-old medical student. He studied medicine at Kharkov National Medical University.

He was transferred to the bunker just in case. However, he died in a rocket attack when he went to buy food. The incident happened when he came out of the bunker to buy food at a nearby supermarket. It turned out he was talking to his father before he left the bunker on Tuesday. He told his father that nearly 15 to 20 older students had been evacuated and waited for his other friends’ turn.

One of Naveen’s friends, Srikanth, said while speaking for Kannada’s private channel that nine students were in the bunker. After the start of the night, Naveen left the bunker at 6:30 to buy food. He said Naveen called him around 7:58 and asked to transfer the money to his card. When he called her, several locals took the call and cried. He tells her that Naveen is dead.
He added:
“The authorities have asked us to try to get to the west side by train. The train station is 7-8 km from our bunker. Taxis are very expensive.” We were afraid to go. An MEA official called Naveen’s family about his death and said he was killed in the attack while he was shopping for groceries. Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai called on Naveen’s parents to comfort her. Naveen Shekharappa died Tuesday and rested in peace with his souls.
